Why Even Bother?

Me *speaking with a clerk*: You know all those hearing dates you got last Thursday? The court just called down and they're going to continue all those hearings. It appears they have too many hearings that day

Clerk: If they are going to continue them why did they give us those dates?

Me: I didn't want to ask that question because then I would say something I shouldn't.
